Held at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, this significant event brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and enthusiasts to discuss the intersection of AI and tourism. The discussion addressed the pivotal question: “How are AI tools revolutionizing tourism?” and offered mr. Spyridis, a platform to share his insights.

In his presentation, mr. Spyridis highlighted the ways AI is reshaping the tourism industry, providing better services and increased efficiency to businesses within the sector. The possibilities of AI implementation in tourism range from personalized itinerary suggestions based on a traveller’s preferences, real-time translations, to smart hotel rooms and advanced data analytics for better decision-making.

As a passionate advocate of digital transformation, mr. Spyridis emphasized the importance of information dissemination and professional education in emerging technologies. The CapTour Project is a commendable initiative conducted under the Cooperation Program INTERREG VA “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020.” It aims to strengthen the tourism industry in the cross-border region of Greece and Bulgaria. The program organizes various activities, including “Innovation Meetings in Tourism,” to equip entrepreneurs with knowledge and support to develop competitive services and products.

Mr. Spyridis’ participation in the “Innovation Meeting” underscored his commitment to promoting technology and innovation in the tourism sector. The discussion focused on the opportunities AI offers to enhance tourist experiences and increase the competitiveness of tourism businesses.

Implemented under the Cooperation Program INTERREG VA “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”, the project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national resources of the countries participating in the Program. The project partnership comprises four beneficiaries, one of which is the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (HHF).
